Ligue de l’Enseignement is a movement of more than 150 years. It aims to guarantee access to education for everyone and further promotes a secular society, solidarity among citizens and active citizenship, Laicity (humanism or secularism). The movement defends a republican idea, based on equality of rights; facing transformation of French society into a multicultural society.

Ligue de l’Enseignement Nouvelle Aquitaine (LENA) is the regional union of 12 federations, and is affiliated/member to Ligue de l’Enseignement. LENA shares the same aims:

• Training responsible citizens,
• Fighting against all inequalities,
• building a fairer and more independent society.

LENA is involved in the many fields of permanent education that allow democratic progress and the full exercise of citizenship.

LENA is composed by 4 departments

• 1. Professional Training : For job seekers, NEETS, Migrants, …in different fields (hotel industry, tourism, retraining and professional integration)
• 2. Cultural actions : Mobile cinema, festivals, artistic and cultural education, … for all ages
• 3. Holidays camps & Leaders training : Holidays, camps for young people, Training and certifications BAFA/BAFD
• 4. Development of regional activities : Youth education, empowerment, volunteering, youth training, digital learning, European projects
